Kaiyu Wang
Postdoctoral Fellow

Kaiyu Wang is a BIDMaP Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC Berkeley, where he worked with Prof. Omar M. Yaghi on Reticular Chemistry and the use of artificial intelligence and laboratory automation to accelerate materials discovery.

At BIDMaP, Kaiyu aims to integrate self-driving laboratories with large language models to advance the discovery and optimization of next-generation materials. His research focuses on developing autonomous workflows that combine chemical knowledge, robotic experimentation, and data-driven feedback to accelerate the design and optimization of functional porous materials for carbon capture, water harvesting, gas storage and separation.
