BIDMaP congratulates our Co-Director, Omar Yaghi, on being named University Professor—UC’s highest faculty honor. As Dean of the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society and BIDMaP Faculty Jennifer Chayes noted, Omar is “the perfect scholar” for this title, having invented the field of reticular materials and now pioneering generative AI to revolutionize materials discovery.
“Omar’s vision and leadership continue to push the boundaries of science and redefine what’s possible,” said Sarah Jones, BIDMaP Executive Director. "We’re proud to collaborate with a scientist whose work is transforming climate, health, and beyond."
