EarthTech2025: Science and Technology in Service of Humanity

EarthTech2025 is the third annual symposium organized by the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society in partnership with the Bakar Institute of Digital Materials for the Planet, the Department of Physics and Berkeley Discovery at UC Berkeley, with the goal of bringing together experts and students for a morning of discussion on the role of science and technology in addressing the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of humanity and the planet.

Calling all students to apply for the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Prize

Application deadline: November 18 at 11:59 pm
The prize is for undergraduate and high school students who are conducting research in the STEM field.

Include in the subject your last name & the prize you are applying for (Undergrad or High school).

Submission Format

The application must not exceed one written page (single spaced, font 11) without figures, or 1.5 pages with up to two figures summarizing the results. Please include figure captions. To be considered, the application must address all eight points outlined below and be submitted in PDF format.

  1. Name, Last Name, and Year of graduation
  2. Department (for undergraduates) or Name of the School (for high school students)
  3. Nature of the work: Select: Experiment or Theory
  4. Project overview and goals: Highlight the broader impact of your research and explain why anyone should care - 2 paragraphs max.
  5. Experimental technique or theoretical model: Very briefly describe the experimental technique or the theoretical model you are utilizing for this work - 1 paragraph max.
  6. Results: Describe results to date and highlight your contribution to the work - 3 paragraphs max.
  7. Publications: This is a separate document. Provide a list of your publications, including titles, full author lists, and the journals where they were published. For unpublished work, include details of manuscripts under submission, in preparation, or available as preprints. If you do not have any publication yet, write N/A. For manuscripts under submission provide a copy of the preprint.
  8. Others: Share any poster or oral presentation you have delivered related to this work. If you do not have anything to share, write N/A.
