BIDMaP congratulates our Postdoctoral Fellow Zhiling (Zach) Zheng on receiving the prestigious Inflection Award for his impactful research on climate change solutions. Organized by Marble and supported by Breakthrough Energy Fellows and the Quadrature Climate Foundation, the Inflection Award identifies and connects the world's top scientific leaders of tomorrow with global opportunities to accelerate climate action. Zheng’s work focuses on using AI and Machine learning to develop new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for scalable
atmospheric water harvesting and carbon capture. Innovative strategies and materials for mitigating climate change are needed at this pivotal moment, as global temperatures surpass 1.5°C, edging closer to the critical 2°C threshold, an inflection point in climate science.
As an awardee, Zheng will attend an exclusive two-day event in Paris, where he will engage with experts, participate in workshops, and explore career opportunities spanning research, industry, policy, and entrepreneurship.
