BIDMaP Postdoctoral Fellow, Zhiling (Zach) Zheng, has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Carbon Future Young Investigator Award. This international recognition highlights Zheng’s outstanding contributions to carbon science, particularly his pioneering research integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with carbon capture and conversion technologies. The award, which includes a $1,000 prize and a certificate, will be presented at the 2nd International Symposium on Carbon Future in Ordos, China, from July 19–23, 2025.

“I’m thrilled to receive this award, and I am especially grateful to Professor Omar Yaghi for his support and nomination,” Zheng said. “In my application research statement, I emphasized how AI will shape the future of carbon science, a vision that strongly aligns with BIDMaP’s mission. I see this award not only as a personal honor but also as a reflection of the innovative direction we’re pursuing at BIDMaP.”
